WHAT TO EXPECT
Western Chiropractic is here to help you move beyond your limits. We strive to educate and inform you on how to reach your optimal health potential. We value each and every interaction and recognize the opportunity we have with you to make a positive difference in your health.
Patients will be given an individualized treatment plan that is tailored towards their specific health and wellness needs. One or a combination of the following forms of treatment will be utilized:
CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT
One of the most common treatments used by Chiropractors to treat musculoskeletal dysfunction is referred to as manipulaton or an adjustment. This safe and effective hands-on treatment restores normal joint motion to promote healing while relieving associated pain and discomfort and improve overall joint function.
REHABILITATIVE EXERCISES
In-office or at home exercises may be instructed to facilitate the healing process. Rehabilitative exercises are integral for restoring muscular strength and optimizing joint function in order to prevent future injury.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
Soft tissue therapy can be used to help restore normal muscle length and promote optimal joint function. Myofascial release also breaks down scar tissue and adhesions in and around the joints which will increase joint range of motion.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic is an evidence-informed health care discipline that addresses the musculoskeletal system. This non-invasive, manual therapy treats disorders related to the nerves, joints, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Whether it is an acute or chronic condition, Chiropractic care addresses the root cause of dysfunction, and can provide symptomatic relief while allowing the body to restore itself so that you can get back to performing your daily activities in a pain-free state.
DOES CHIROPRACTIC CARE REQUIRE A REFERRAL FROM AN MD?
No. Chiropractors are primary healthcare providers. This means that you can consult Chiropractors directly.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY INITIAL EXAMINATION?
The focus of your initial examination visit is to understand your current state of health and addressing your health concerns. Based on the results of your present and past medical history, your Chiropractor will conduct a focused exam based on the nature of your complaint. Exams to be performed might include a posture assessment, range of motion testing, neurological testing and/or orthopaedic testing. Based on the information obtained, your Chiropractor will then establish a diagnosis and develop a comprehensive treatment/management plan that is tailored towards your individual health needs.
